ELI OLIN LAKEY  was born August 16, 1866, and died August 19, 1935. (Had twin named Levi ) He married LOUISA ELLEN GARRISON January 06, 1888 in Douglas Co., Missouri, daughter of JOHN GARRISON and MARY GARRISON.  She was born April 24, 1868 in Missouri, and died August 19, 1947 in Douglas Co, Missouri.

According to the Springfield (MO) Patriot, Friday, June 15, 1876  and family stories Both of Eli's Parents (Enos and Isabella Lakey) and sister Mary and three of the young boys were drowned in flood, June 1876. Known as one of the worst floods in county history: located at Wry, Fox and Bryant Creeks. Twelve people died in all. Enos put twins up in a tree and set Will on a pile of driftwood when he heard the water coming and went back to get his wife and daughter. They didn't make it, along with three unamed boys. The next morning Will and the twins were still alive and found by their older brother, Simon Lakey.
